Servant Life partners with a local ministry in Pittsburgh whose mission is to do their part in fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission on the North Side of Pittsburgh by following His model of holistic ministry by investing in the lives of at-risk children, youth, and their families in order to develop responsible followers of Christ.
 

What will my team be doing? 

On a short-term mission trip to the North Side, you will have the opportunity to serve with one of our many outreach programs (athletics, education, performing arts), assist in numerous construction and renovation needs, and learn how God has been moving in the heart of the city. You will also experience missionary training in order to serve effectively in an urban setting, including prayer walking in our community. Our hope and prayer is that teams would walk away with a sense of urgency to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission with real, practical tools to serve in their own community and beyond.
 

What does a general weekly schedule look like?

• Monday. Travel day. Arrive in North Side in the morning. Welcome: Expectations & Ice Breakers. Lunch. Driving Tour of the North Side. Worship. Missionary Training

• Tuesday - Thursday. Ministry Days including work projects, Bible clubs, block parties, prayer walking, and more. Worship and nightly missionary training

• Friday. Travel day; depart for home after lunch. Morning ministry opportunities and send off

What does my cost include?​

• NOTE. If your team wants to stay an additional night for scheduling purposes or additional ministry opportunities, we can add on nights for around $50 per person.

• NOTE. This location has tiered pricing based on group size.)

• Housing. Teams will stay at our missions center (Bunk rooms, showers, training/hangout space all within our dorm, plus a courtyard for extra activities)​​

• Meals. All meals will be provided. Breakfast is normally served at the missions center, lunch is provided at daily serve site, and then dinner is provided from one of many Pittsburgh restaurant favorites.

• T-Shirt. Every participant gets an awesome mission trip t-shirt.

• Pre-Trip Training Material. We provide training sessions, trip overview documents, assistance from our team of mission trip experts, and communication with in-country missionaries to make sure your group is fully prepared for your trip.

• Pre, During, and Post-trip Devotionals. This 4-week printed missions journal will help every team member grow and encounter Christ.
   

Airfare and transportation are not included in the trip cost, but can be taken care of by Servant Life's travel agent if you plan to fly. You may book on your own if you prefer to do so, but we ask to approve the itinerary first. Note also that you do need your own transportation while you are in Pittsburgh, and we can assist with helping you find the best deals for rental cars.
